"It's a Twister! It's a Twister!"

I created a piece called "The Twister" for my thesis project at MICA. It was featured in the 2015 MICA Commencement Exhibition.

I built this machine from the ground up using both new and recycled / re-purposed parts. This machine allows me to twist metal by simply applying manual pressure via the hand-crafted spinning wheel. I've also added the option of fire, which heats the metal for ease of use, but the machine can still operate without it.

I've tested it to twist up to 1/2 inch square stock cold and up to 1 inch hot. My twisted metal pieces can be used for a variety of projects including decorative art installations, gates, door handles, and much more.

Welcome to My Site!

Mike Fieden, Jr. welds a bike in his garage / studio.

Mike Fieden Jr. is a graduate of MICA (Maryland Institute College of Art) with a BFA in Interdisciplinary Sculpture. His work strives to take design to a new level of thought, while still holding true to the vintage heritage of custom motorcycle and car history.

The goal of his work is to update the classics without losing the “old soul” of vintage design.
