About Me

I'm Mike. I recently graduated from MICA (Maryland Institute College of Art) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a focus on Interdisciplinary Sculpture.

I have a passion for combining the arts of hot rod and custom motorcycle fabrication with age-old methods of metal manipulation such as casting, welding, etc. in order to both commemorate and reflect upon a dying art form as our civilization advances.

I develop new methods of using old metal fabrication techniques to create custom motorcycles which embody a hybrid appreciation for both new age design, as well as old-time craftsmanship.

My work strives to take vehicular design to a new level of thought while still holding true to the vintage heritage of custom motorcycle and car history.

My goal is to update the classics without losing the “old soul” of vintage design.

Every time I work in my garage / studio, I put a magnifying glass on the ever-shrinking culture of people who strive to keep this outdated machinery relevant.

I love that I can take a pile of scrap metal and busted old worn out parts, and with blood, sweat, tears, and a passion for keeping the craft alive, build a machine that can eventually be enjoyed, both functionally, and as art.

In a way, I see myself as some kind of twisted Dr. Frankenstein, having pieced together parts of dead vehicles and parts of my own hand-made creation to make up these fire-breathing quarter mile monsters.
